St. Edward the Confessor School Reviews

The teachers go out of there way to help my Adhd child keep up. We have gotten alot support.

I have two children at this school in grades 1st and 3rd. The school does put alot of homework on the kids, but I feel compared to other schools, it is preparing the children well for their high school years. My 1st grader is doing work that kids at other Catholic schools in the area, are doing in 2nd grade. I highly recommend this school for any parent that wishes their children be well prepared for the future.

I strongly agree with the review written on Jan. 24, 2007. My child went to St. Edwards from K-2nd. I had to find another school. The homework is unreal and I strongly felt that the work was pushed on parents to do. The work was impossible for a child to complete alone with guidance. I feel homework should reflect classwork done in school. A child should need guidance through homework not 100% parent help. Also, we are Catholic, but I felt the religion academic was pushed to much and was the main focus of learning at this school. I did want the Catholic religion to be part of their school academic, but it overruled the basic subjects needed for example: math, reading, science, social studies-history, spelling, language-english. I loved the discipline and morial of the school. Agree with the high turnover of teachers, not good.

Although this person had wonderful experiences at this place, the education does reflect flaws. However, middle schoolers are taken back in time for '50s, '60s, or '40s week each year. Academically, this person constantly received nice grades. Therefore, really intelligent students benefit the most. Especially, singing and band lose several benefits. Though, cheer-leading permits everyone, sometimes boys. Moreover, the parents enjoy the games. Personally, guardian involvement looks suitable. S.T.E.A.M. and Ladies' Council allow togetherness, separately, between fathers and mothers. Also, the majority of students relinquish great enthrallment at the Cochon de Lait- the carnival. Besides, they continually promote building improvement. Furthermore, it majorily encourages handicapped installments.

I went to St. Edward from Kindergarten-8th grade. I have to say that I was well prepared for some aspects of high school but at the same time I was very un-prepared. The homework that St. Edward gives you is realistic for the amount you get in high school; therefore I was well prepared for that aspect of high school. Academically, I realized that St. Edward did not prepare me in math, math is the one thing that always struggle with to keep my 4.0gpa. I was prepared in other subjects. The main thing St. Edward focuses on for extracurricular activities is athletics. St. Edward's student council shouldn't be called student council, its not a real student council. Other clubs were genuine (examples: Clown Ministry and Safety Patrol). The teachers were nice.

My child is in second grade. Happy with Academics but very unhappy with student teacher ratio.

My child is currently in the 3rd grade at St. Edward. Great involvement by parents. Very religious school. Way too much homework. We do about 3-5 hours homework a night. No flexibility from schedule. Average 5-9 test/quiz per week. I am currently looking for another school for my child that offers more flexibility and less homework. I understand that homework is a positive and necessary, but why am I teaching my child and not his teachers? Very high turnover of teachers every year.
