East Jefferson High School Reviews

I am a student at east jefferson..its a great school..teachers try hard..students try hard..and the discipline is great..but they worry to much on how we look like(meaning: tucked shirt, white socks, no head band, etc.) instead about worrying more in education than those reasons..other than that it is awsome school I love it...too bad I have only one more year to go...

I just graduated from EJ three months ago, it's the best school i've been to. They have an awesome band, dance team, flag team, and cute cheerleaders. I learned a lot over there. Most teachers including Coach Rando and Ms.Upton and Mr.Dyer will help you if you need any help. Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!!

I was in their special education program. It is horrible! They do not push you to do better. They do not give you the tools you really need to make it in the real world.

Academically, East Jefferson is a decent school. The teachers are nice and the classes are fine, there are no problems in that area. But personally, this school is horrible. The disciplinarians favor the popular students and let them get away with a lot. Students are constantly bullied for being different. And unfortunately, it's always a game of he said, she said. The administrators try, but there's not much they can do.

I am about to graduate from e.J. Next sautersay the 27th. And e.J. Is the best school. I was on the cheerleading team there and it was great. The teachers are there for you even if they don't know you if you need their help with anything at all they will do what ever they can to help and if they can't they will show a person who can help.

I graduated from E.J.(c/o 2003). The teachers always work hard to make sure the students are learning what they need for success in the future. I enjoyed playing girls soccer when i was there. The coach Graffo (sorry if I missed spelled her name) taught me what good sportsmanship is and how not to sink down to their levels. i never got to tell her thanks. There is Mr.Dyer who offers to help any student who come to his room for help no matter how busy he is. that is just a few teachers at that school who try and help students. Go E.J.!

The Teachers work very hard to meet every individual students needs. There are many extracurricular activities that pulls all the students together as one awesome group of young adults.

I am a junior at E.J. ((c/o 2007)) and I love E.J. so much. It is an awsome school. The faculty and the students are the best. I'm in all honors classes and I learn so much; the teachers are always there to help. There are so many extracurricular activities- HI-Y, Spirit Club, Class Counsel, StuCo, Key Club, you name it... and E.J. has the BEST dance team and band in the world! Going to E.J. is just about the greatest experience of my life (so far) and the people there have just helped me so much. Thanks. ~Kerrie

I attend East Jefferson High School as a Junior...and I have enjoyed EJ for the past two years. It is sad that I have to go to another school for a short period of time due to the hurricane, but as soon as I can go back,it will be a huge relief. I've never had as much fun in school as I've had here. The teachers, sponsers, coaches, and office staff are very welcoming and loving and I am grateful for them. Anyone who attends here will understand. Janine

I am a junior at East Jefferson. We have the most awesome extra-curricular activities with everything from kids who love science fiction.. community service.. and enviromental science club. Also, the teachers are awesome and I feel I have a tougher curriculum and more work than local Catholic High Schools. They have defintely prepared me for college and the real world. GO WARRIORS! -Jennie, E.J. Dance Team Co-Captain.

If you are concerned about your child's saftey I would recommend against sending your child to this school

I'm a student who attends EJ, and i absouletly love it! Its an awesome school to go to...theres so much spirit there and people are always willing to help! The teachers are so great and they have counselors who will help you tremendously! They helped me!

Many people underestimate how good public school really is. East Jefferson is a wonderful public school. Teachers are concerned for the students as individuals and they want them to succeed in life. I Would deffinently recommend EJ for a High school student.

I graduated from EJHS in 2003, and it was an experience. All public schools are. If a student is interested in learning, though, one can get an excellent education. Yes, there are some discipline issues, but the teachers are wonderful and classes have a lot to offer, if a student bothers with applying themselves. I believe I got the best education any school in the New Orleans metropolitian area has to offer. Go EJ Warriors!

I have one son that was a freshman this past year and one that is going in this year. I have had nothing but good things happen to my son at this school this past year. Some of the teachers are hard to reach sometimes but most of the time they are very cooperative and will try to help you in any way they can.

My daughter is a graduate of E.J 2001 and may I say graduated 3rd in her class. She now attends LSU college of Education and carrying a 3.8 plus GPA. She hopes to become a teacher for East Jefferson H.S. Yes she was in all honors classes of which Jefferson Parish School system is second to none. Yes the school has some problems but the education is very available to all who want it. Parental involvement is a must for any child to achieve a good education. My wife and I backed my daughter 100% in all activities at East Jefferson High School. Please parents if you think you back your child now in school add another 50% backing and your child will get the best education there is at any school.

I am actually an alumni of this particular school. I just graduated from college, and can honestly say that part of my educational success is due to the teaching and imparting from the teachers. Most of my teachers were dedicated to teaching and making sure that their students were learning. Not only did they care about us learning the school work, but they made sure they prepared us for the 'real' world. When I think about my success, I am reminded of the folk at East Jefferson who cared enough to keep me on track and saw things in me that I didn't even see myself. So I will persuade in saying that this school is one of the best in the area. Hands down!

The teachers of East Jefferson High School are predominantly caring and concerned. They do face difficulties in some classes with students who do not want to be in school. It becomes challenging to teach students who are not interested in learning. This can present problems for some children. Those who are interested can be very successful.

I do not think East Jefferson High is an overall good school. My child is a 15 year old sophmore that attends the school, and she is very unhappy there. The teachers do not show any disapine. I mean she sits in class, and people can either be making fun of one another or having non-related school sujects using the F - word 50 times, and the teachers do nothing. It's rediculous. And, sometimes she'll ask a teacher for some help, and her respone is 'Ask a neighbor.' That's real nice, considering most of them are clueless, and she doesn't talk to most of them. The behavior allowed in that school is absurd.
