“Lakewood is a good school. However, if you have a child with exceptionalities such as ADHD, OCD, Asperger's or Tourette's, it may not be the school for your child because the school does not have the training and information available to it to provide your child with the extra support your child will need to be successful. In fact, the school takes a full responsibility approach and does not make exceptions easily despite diagnoses. St. Charles Parish is also resistent to having outsiders come in to train the teachers, etc. and the principals cannot force teachers to attend any inservices you may schedule outside of the school. However, if you have a normal or gifted child, this is definitely the place to be. The gifted program is wonderful.”
