Bridgedale Elementary School Reviews

My son started Bridgedale in Pre K3 and is currently in first grade. We love Bridgedale. The teachers and staff have all been wonderful to us. We always feel welcomed. Ms. Sara is a great principal and Mrs. Linda, the secretary, is always very helpful. We are getting ready to move out of state and are very sad to leave Bridgedale.

The staff at Bridgedale are very rude. Especially the 'secretary' that thinks she runs the world. I feel very unwelcomed whenever I chose to come to the school for any reason. The after school program is run by shouting at the children. I do not even tell my child to 'shut up' at home.

My children attend Bridgedale and I am pulling them out. The teachers although they try, are not allowed to discipline the misbehaving children that attend the school. Which allows alot of bullying to go on. The school looks like it should be condemed and there is no grass to play on or any play equiptment. Children should be treated better.

I know that all of the teachers that are there have been there for quite a few years.. They seem to have little patience, understaffed, and their teaching methods are outdated, i have had to watch my children relearn all of the things they had already been taught by me, .. As a parent, i was concerned about my children enough to check in weekly, and eventually move them to a near by private school. I think they should refresh, possibly get some younger teachers, who want to teach the children and update their curriculum.

Place needs a revamp.

This is the only school that my child desires to go to.

I have two children at Bridgedale, I believe the teachers nor the principle could care whether my child passes or not.

I have had children at Bridgedale for the past 4 years. I have had lots of positive interactions with the teachers there. Some teachers have been there for a long time and are good at what they do. The school needs a lot of repair work, but everyone seems to be managing. School safety is a concern. There are bullies at the school who seem to intimidate everyone. I have spoken to the principal, but the problems are still evident. Although there is a big play yard, the children never use it, but play on the blacktop instead, even for P.E. I think more parents would volunteer if they were more welcome by the office personnel.

I have 2 children at Bridgedale, one in 3rd grade and one in 5th. The teachers are wonderful. The school is on the rundown side. The principal is not a people person, and would benefit from more volunteers.

The principal is difficult to deal with. For the most part, the teachers are caring and conscientious.

My 3 children go to Bridgedale. I am very happy with the school's progress over the last few years. There are good teachers and staff that really care about the kids. I would like to see more parent involvement. I would not have my children go to another school. Mrs. Sara is an excellent principal. She will do whatever necessary to help her students and staff to succeed. Standardized tests scores have improved this year. We have just completed an outside overhead for the children to use for P.E. and recess. With more parental involvment we could reach even higher levels of success. I am proud to say my children and I are a part of the Bridgedale family.

Bridgedale Elementary is a great school. The teachers are wonderful. They care about the students. The recess is amazing. In fact there building an overhead. Everyday when I wake up I can't wait to go to school. I love my school it's the best. BLAKE REIS

My child goes to Bridgedale and although I must admit the only things I know about this school is the research that I have done. My first impression regarding this school is it looks terrible, it needs a whole make over on the outside. Would you eat a restaurant that looks this bad. Even the school sign is falling apart. I one day took an opportunity to rome the school and was not even questioned on who I was and why was I there. What happened to security. Academically it could be better. If it was up to me my child would not be attending that school, but financally I cannot afford private school. Yes, my other children go to public school, but this should be shut down and rebuilt and updated, we are now in 2004 not 1957, or whenever the school was built. Extreme make over help.

My child has attended Bridgedale Elementary since 1st grade. The first 3 years were really good. She is in the 5th grade now and the teachers in my opinion have failed her miserably. She is in no way ready for the 6th. grade. I have worked daily with this child on homework from 5 till 8 to even 9pm sometimes. I spoke with the teachers who said that it was my child's fault that she was getting it. I spoke with the principle's assistant who said that her hands were tied. I asked for an evaluation and was told that that wasnt possible. When I went to my childs classroom, there were stacks of papers on every tabletop possible. No organization...The teacher was looking for a piece of paper she wanted me to see and opened every draw in her desk which was crammed to the top.

I have 1 child that has gone here from K-3rd so far. She has been on the honor roll several times. If there is a problem with progress the teacher lets me know so we can correct the problem. The only thing I don't really like is that the students are not allowed to run outside and I feel kids should be able to run to get there excercise.
